SPLM SG Recieved SPLM Chairperson and Deputy Governor of Western Bahr El Ghazal State

The SPLM Secretary General, Cde. Dr. Akol Paul Kordit today met with the SPLM Chairperson and Deputy Governor of Western Bahr El Ghazal State, H.E. Cde. Achom Edward Apuoro, who presented a formal report on the state’s activities.
Cde. Achom Edward Apuoro expressed his appreciation to the National Secretariat for the warm welcome and noted that he was pleased to deliver the report regarding his tenure since his appointment to the state. He emphasized that the delegation came to brief the Secretary General on the security situation and SPLM activities in the state, while affirming that Western Bahr El Ghazal SPLM members remain united at the state and grassroots level.
The SPLM Secretary for Political Affairs, Mobilization, and Organization, Cde. Amb. John Andurga Duku, characterized the report as highly encouraging and noted the unity of the SPLM members in the state. He highlighted key takeaways for the people of Western Bahr El Ghazal. The Electoral Commission has declared the General Elections date for December 22, 2026, and SPLM members are urged to register.
A crucial consultation meeting is scheduled in Juba between the 2nd and the 7th of next month, involving all ten governors and the three chief administrators along with SPLM state secretaries to deliberate on the way forward for the upcoming Elections. Emphasizing the need for collective progress, he encouraged the SPLM leaders to work closely with the governors in the interest of the people of South Sudan.
