August 10, 2026
The SPLM Secretary General, Cde. Dr. Akol Paul Kordit, alongside Deputy Secretary General for Administration and Finance Cde. Baba Medan Konyi, recently met with the SPLM Election Resource Mobilization Committee to outline a comprehensive operational roadmap for the upcoming national campaign. The strategic briefing focused on solidifying grassroots infrastructure and fiscal preparedness ahead of the country's general elections.
Addressing the media following the meeting, Hon. Cde. Lam Tungwar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and the Chairperson of the SPLM Election Resource Mobilization Committee, emphasized that internal organizational alignment is moving forward seamlessly.
"We had a great meeting with the Secretary General of the SPLM as the committee for the resource mobilization of the upcoming election for the SPLM," Cde. Tungwar stated. "This meeting is to come and share the terms of reference and discuss the strategy of how we mobilize from our own supporters of the SPLM. And we have done that excellently."
Committee leadership confirmed that nearly all designated members have arrived to finalize strategic plans, ensuring that mobilization efforts directly reach the areas holding the party's core demographic support bases. Working under the administrative purview of the secretariat, the committee is rigorously organizing both in-kind contributions and monetary cash flow to ensure absolute transparency and accountability.
Leadership noted that the upcoming campaign serves as a vital indicator of public backing, highlighting that a strong party relies heavily on proactive support and resource pooling from its members. Backed by formal institutional authority from the Secretariat, the committee is moving forward to ensure that every facet of the campaign framework is fully optimized ahead of the December 22 electoral events.
