SPLM JONGLEI STATE LAUNCHES MASS MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION CAMPAIGN

SPLM Chairperson and Governor of Jonglei State, H.E. Cde. Dr. Riek Gai Kok, officially launched the statewide SPLM membership registration drive on Monday. This initiative serves as a direct implementation of the strategic directives issued during the recent SPLM Leadership Summit ( 2 - 7 July, 2026) in Juba, which tasked all state and administrative areas secretariats with accelerating preparations for the upcoming Congresses and National Convention, in a significant move to consolidate the party’s grassroots presence and organizational strength.
The launch, held at the SPLM State Secretariat in Bor, marks a pivotal phase in the party’s efforts to formalize its support base and ensure maximum readiness across all counties. Emphasizing the importance of the exercise, H.E. Cde. Dr. Riek Gai Kok urged party leadership to prioritize mobilization and documentation of all SPLM members to ensure the party remains fully prepared for the electoral cycle.
To streamline this massive undertaking, the Chairperson issued clear directives to the SPLM State Secretariat and County leadership, mandating that all SPLM County Chairpersons oversee the registration campaign within their respective jurisdictions to ensure it is comprehensive and efficient. In line with the Summit's resolutions regarding the refinement of leadership and organizational capacity, H.E. Cde. Dr. Riek Gai Kok also instructed the SPLM State Secretary, Cde. David Anyang Nyuon, to move forward with the appointment of Cde. Jany Kuajien Tut Kaithiel as the Acting SPLM Chairperson for Akobo County to bolster leadership in that region. Furthermore, the Secretariat has been tasked with an immediate focus on political mobilization and Cadre-ship training, ensuring that the SPLM vision, mission and objectives is clearly communicated to all citizens throughout the state.
The SPLM leadership in Jonglei remains committed to upholding the resolutions of the National Summit and calls upon all party members and supporters to participate actively in the registration process. This campaign is a testament to the party's dedication to internal democracy and its determination to secure a strong mandate in the upcoming General Elections.
