July 27, 2026

The SPLM High Level delegation left Juba today for an official three-day party visit to Torit, Eastern Equatoria State. The delegation comprising Cde. Makuc Aru, Secretary for States and Membership Affairs, Cde. Dr. John Oryem, Secretary for Training and Research; and Cde. Amb. Jimmy Atilio, Acting Secretary for Culture, Information and Communication. The visit demonstrate SPLM unwavering commitment, organizational strength, and total readiness for the upcoming democratic transition, this high-level delegation aims to cascade critical party directives directly to the grassroots.

The visit is a direct continuation of the strategic directives set forth during the recent SPLM Leadership Summit held in Juba earlier this month. The three national leaders will join forces with Eastern Equatoria State leadership for an expanded consultative meeting that brings together prominent party figures from the national, state, and grassroots levels to deliberate on the outcomes of the National Leadership Summit.

At the core of the Torit deliberations is a rigorous review focused on scaling up party readiness for the upcoming general elections, enhancing internal party democracy through structured preparations for internal primaries and upcoming congresses, ensuring that the SPLM remains unified, organized, and deeply connected to the grassroots

This high level mobilization powerfully underscores the SPLM's absolute organizational readiness, and definitive preparedness to securing landslide victory in the upcoming general elections
