Donation Terms

Thank you for supporting the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM). These terms apply to donations made through the donate page of this website. By making a donation you confirm that you have read and accept them.

Who may donate

By donating you confirm that:

• you are at least 18 years old;
• you are a citizen of South Sudan, including South Sudanese living abroad;
• the money is your own and you are not giving on behalf of another person, a company, an organisation or a foreign government;
• the money does not come from any unlawful source.

Donations must comply with the laws of the Republic of South Sudan, including the law on political parties. The SPLM may refuse or return any donation that it cannot lawfully accept or that does not meet these terms.

A voluntary gift

A donation is a voluntary gift to support the work of the Party. It does not buy goods or services, membership, office, appointment, or any influence over Party decisions. Making a donation does not make you a member of the SPLM. To join, see how to join the SPLM.

How payments work

• MTN MoMo (South Sudanese Pounds): enter your MTN South Sudan number and the amount. MTN will send a prompt to your phone. The payment is only made once you approve it with your PIN. Online MoMo donations must be between 500 SSP and 5,000,000 SSP.
• Card or PayPal (US Dollars): payment is completed in PayPal's secure window, using a card or a PayPal account. Online card donations must be between US$1 and US$10,000.

Any fees charged by your mobile money provider, bank or card issuer are set by them, not by the SPLM. The SPLM never asks for your MoMo PIN, card number or passwords by phone, SMS or email. If anyone does so in the Party's name, do not respond and report it to [email protected].

Confirmation and receipts

The donate page shows a confirmation when your payment succeeds. MTN MoMo sends its usual payment SMS, and PayPal sends a payment receipt by email. Keep these as your record. If you need a formal acknowledgement from the Party, write to [email protected] with the payment reference.

Mistakes, duplicate payments and refunds

Donations are generally not refundable. However, if you donated the wrong amount, were charged twice, or a payment was made without your permission, contact [email protected] within 30 days of the payment. Include the date, amount, payment method and the MoMo or PayPal reference. We will investigate and, where the request is valid, return the money through the original payment method.

If a MoMo payment shows as pending, do not repeat it straight away. Check your MoMo balance and messages first, as approval can take a few minutes.

Your information

We receive only what we need to process and account for your donation. The SPLM never sees or stores your card details. How your information is handled is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you donate applies to your donation.
