The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) today welcomed a delegation of party members and youth leaders from Eastern Equatoria State at the SPLM National Secretariat in Juba, where they renewed their membership as part of the party’s ongoing nationwide membership registration and renewal exercise.

The delegation comprised representatives from Lafon County, Greater Kapoeta, and other communities from Eastern Equatoria State residing in Juba. The exercise reflects the party’s continued commitment to strengthening its membership base and enhancing grassroots participation ahead of future party activities and the country’s democratic processes.

Speaking during the event, Cde. Akura John Ukuk, Team Leader representing Lafon County, said the delegation had successfully mobilized members to respond to the party’s call for membership registration and renewal. He encouraged all SPLM members to register, emphasizing that the exercise provides an opportunity for members to reaffirm their commitment to the party while ensuring their details are updated in the party’s membership records.

The SPLM Eastern Equatoria State Youth League Coordinator in Juba, Cde. Drici David Taban, described the registration exercise as a demonstration of unity, patriotism, and confidence in the leadership of the SPLM. He urged members who are yet to renew their membership to take advantage of the ongoing exercise, noting that the process is free, transparent, and accessible to all eligible members.

Cde. John Mark Loojo, Youth Member and Coordinator for Greater Kapoeta in Juba, commended the impressive turnout of members from his community. He called upon SPLM members across South Sudan to renew their membership and remain actively engaged in the affairs of the party as preparations continue for future political activities.

Also speaking, Cde. Elias Loinet Marino, Culture and Sports Secretary of the Toposa Youth Association and SPLM Coordinator for Greater Kapoeta, particularly Kapoeta North, urged members of the Greater Kapoeta community residing in Juba to visit the SPLM National Secretariat and register.

He praised the overwhelming participation of community members and thanked the party leadership for organizing the exercise, describing it as a significant step toward strengthening the SPLM and promoting active citizen participation in the country’s democratic process.

The SPLM reiterates that the membership registration and renewal exercise remains free of charge and calls upon all members across the country to visit their nearest registration centres to renew their membership and continue contributing to the growth and unity of the Movement.
